Florida sees a lot of international property transactions

The real estate market here in Florida draws the attention of many different people. This includes individuals from other countries. These days, Florida sees a good portion of America’s international property transactions. This can be seen in recent data from the National Association of Realtors.

The statistics cover a one-year period ending in this past March. Reportedly, 22 percent of purchases of U.S. property by foreign buyers over that period were of property in Florida. The numbers also point to Florida properties being involved in around 26 percent of sales of U.S. property by individuals from other countries.

This makes it so, for this period, Florida was the No. 1 place in the nation for both purchases and sales of property by people from foreign countries.

Many different things could draw a foreign individual to being a participant in Florida’s real estate market and owning property in Florida. Among the things a foreign person’s activity in the Florida real estate market and their reasons for this activity can impact are their U.S. immigration goals.

There are a range of different immigration goals foreign individuals who own property in Florida or are looking to buy or sell such property may have. What immigration options such an individual has for pursuing their particular goals can be impacted be a range of different circumstances. Immigration attorneys can advise foreign individuals who are connected to Florida through property-related reasons on what their unique circumstances mean for their options when it comes to their immigration goals.
